Thanks To Everyone

Dear Friends and Family:

I want to apologize if I freaked anyone out on Friday Night at the Football game. Last week was very stressful and I let it get to me.

During the 1st quarter I started feeling ill and was having chest pains, tingling down my left arm and difficulty catching my breath. Luckily my son Nolan knew something was not right and had one of trainers Betsy come and look at me. She immediately called for our team doctors who were on the sideline. After looking at me, they decided it was in the best interest to go over to the squad and be checked. My blood pressure was out of sight and immediately they hooked me up to monitor my heart.

It was decided to take me to the hospital to be checked over. By the time I got to the ER I had calmed down and my blood pressure was getting back to normal. The ER ran an EKG, took Xray’s and completed several blood tests determining I did not suffer a heart attack or stroke. I was released and have been home resting/relaxing.

I visited my doctor on Monday and everything checked out normal. He is having me do another test on Tuesday to determine if there is any calcium built up in my heart.

He has released me to return to work on Thursday.

I would like to thank Betsy Bonifas and Dr. Steven Dailey for taking care of me on Friday Night and determining I needed to get to the hospital. Thank you to Miami Township EMS for taking great care of me in route and my wife Kelly as they allowed her to ride in the front of the squad, Chief Ober for making sure I could get out there as quickly as possible, Chief Habig and the Cleves Police department, my amazing athletic staff for taking over for me in an emergency, Aaron Wilson, Chris Oser, Betsy Bonifas, Lauren White, Amy Amy Martini Holland, Sandy Ober-Martini, Doc Ault, Dan Perlman, Mark Smiley, Ashley Miller, my son Alex Herges for driving like crazy to get to the school and the hospital and to my youngest son Nolan Herges who made the decision to stay at the game and take charge of the event to make sure everything ran smoothly. Also a huge thank you to Chris Amychris Bufler for helping Nolan get my truck and Kelly’s car to the house for us.

Thank you to an amazing community who has called, texted, emailed and reached out to check up on me. It was amazing the number of people who made sure my family was okay. Our students, staff, athletes ,admin, BOE, friends, community and fellow CHL AD’s are amazing people. If I forgot anyone it was not intentional.

I love this school and community. I promise to take better care of myself and not put myself in this situation again. I want to be around for a long long time.

I realize I need to slow down a tad and take some time for myself and family. This will very difficult as I go 24-7 all the time.

I look forward to seeing all of you this weekend for Football and Soccer.

Sincerely

Larry Herges
